Dr. Marvin Tazelaar

Dr. Tazelaar was a practicing Chiropractor in Hinsdale from 1989 to 1995, having graduated with a DC from National University in 1988. He left private practice in 1995 to develop and operate MRI centers for both private and public entities. In 2007, he joined with his business partner, Brent, to open American MRI. Dr. Tazelaar works closely with our MRI technicians and our radiology staff in order to ensure the quality of the experience at American MRI.

Dr. Tazelaar graduated from Timothy Christian High School in Elmhurst and has been a long-time resident of the near western suburbs. Dr. Tazelaar is active in the "Bulldog Rescue" organization.

Brent Coan

After a 20 year career in the financial industry, Brent joined with Dr. Tazelaar to open American MRI in 2007. At American MRI, his primary roles are working with the marketing team to establish strong ties with the medical community in the surrounding area as well as handling the HR needs of our small business.

Brent's family has resided in the western suburbs for over 15 years. He has 4 children, all of whom seem to think that they need an MRI all the time.

Jerry Stengel
Marketing Representative

Jerry has spent his career developing relationships in the Chicago-land medical community. Since 1998, he has worked almost exclusively in developing business in the medical imaging industry. He joined American MRI from the outset, understanding that the quality and care that Dr. Tazelaar and Brent were determined to provide would set American MRI apart.

Jerry is a Southsider, and he'll let you know. He has an affinity for bowties and large, old Cadillacs that only our grandparents would drive.

Allen Butler
Marketing Representative

Allen joined American MRI in 2012 becoming the newest team member. Having spent a career in business development, he accepted a challenge from American MRI to further develop its business, relationships and brand in the greater western suburbs. Allen spends his days talking with and listening to doctors and their administrative staff in order to understand the needs of their patients so as to assure that American MRI provides the services required to meet those neds.

Allen enjoys meeting the doctors and staffs of our local medical offices. He has a "can do" spirit and is exceptionally well organized - which he attributes to his service in the United States Navy.

Dylan Evans
Technical Director

Since his youth, Dylan has had an equal fascination with both art and science. Naturally, diagnostic imaging was the perfect fit. Licensed in MRI by both ARRT and Armrit and a certified phlebotomist, Dylan is the Technical Director at American MRI, leading our team of licensed and certified technicians.

When he isn’t at work, Dylan spends his time biking in the city of Chicago and having long conversations with his cat, Gremlin.

Eva Dobowki
MRI Technologist

Eva is an energetic bilingual (English/Polish) Registered Technologist, having advanced from an X-ray and CT technologist in 2001 to her favorite modality today - MRI. She has worked in both hospital and outpatient environments, preferring the latter, and especially so at American MRI. Why? “We truly create a more relaxed atmosphere for our clients. There is always plenty of time for me to interact with each individual and give them the time that they deserve."

The best part of Ev's job are the patients that she sees every day. To be able to ease their stress and anxiety throughout their exam using some empathy, music - and maybe a bit of humor – brings her joy and makes the workday meaningful. Oh, and patients like Eva, too.

Jennifer Miller
Senior Office Administrator

Jennifer has been American MRI's Senior Office Administrator since the day the doors opened. She has more than 10 years of experience in office administration. At American, her primary focus is ensuring that patient care is at the forefront of everything that we do. From scheduling to assisting with benefit verification and billing to in-office care to post-visit follow-up, Jennifer makes sure that Patients come before all else.

Jennifer provides administrative leadership for the office, but she also provides motherly leadership for 2 sons as well!

Olivia

Olivia is an energetic, self-motivated individual that has worked in the medical field for over 15 years. She has held positions in Office Administration, Marketing and Medical Billing. She started her career at a nursing home where she developed excellent personal skills and found that she loved serving others. Those traits are visible every day at Western Open MRI as she works to make patients comfortable in their exam or in the understanding of their bill and insurance coverage.

Olivia has three children – 22, 18 and 9 -- and has an outstanding relationship each of them. Her philosophy is from Tony Robbins (whom she loves and travels frequently to see): “The quality of your life, is the quality of your relationships”.

Lilia

Lilia – or Lily, as we all call her – has worked in MRI Administration at the Western Open MRI location for over 10 years. Joining the American MRI family last year has been a great experience, allowing her to always treat patient’s just like she wants to be treated. It has also allowed her to work with some “awesome” (her word ;) professional people.

Lily has habit of cracking jokes in the office, which keeps her co-workers smiling. She’s a big Cubs fan and loves selfies. And she is happily married and has 2 handsome boys.

Monica

Monica has worked in MRI Administration for over 10 years. She has an Associate’s Degree in applied science, specializing in medical billing. The best part of her job is being able to interact with patients in a family-like matter, making them comfortable in their visit to Western Open MRI.

If she isn’t working, she is spending time with her wonderful family and beautiful daughter. And she loves to root for her hometown Chicago sports teams, especially the Cubs and the Bulls!

Saj

Sajan is a licensed MRI Technologist with over 18 years of experience in out-patient MRI. He is also a certified CT Technologist. Saj (as well all know him) has been a fixture at Western Open MRI for nearly as many years, providing the referring physicians in the area the diagnostic images that they rely on for their patient care. He enjoys interaction with his patients and tries to provide a personal touch to every patient encounter.

Saj is bilingual (English and Malalayam) and enjoys spending free time with his family and playing badminton.
